Next to learning and watching, the best way to get better at improv is through practice. Designed as a supplement to a class (not a replacement), Improv 101 practice groups line up with the PHIT Improv 101 curriculum – reinforcing the ideas taught in your class the previous week and exposing you to a variety of instructors from PHIT’s staff throughout each session. Each practice group includes warm-ups and scenework exercises that aim to strengthen and work the core improv concepts laid out in our Intro to Improvised Scenework class. Improv 101 practice groups are open to current Improv 101 students, as well as graduates of Improv 101. PHIT’s Practice Groups are $5 with a current session student pass (just show your student card at the door) and just $20 for anyone else who meets the prerequisites but is in between classes.
Prerequisite: Currently enrolled in Improv 101 or Graduate of PHIT Improv 101
Improv 101 practice groups have a minimum enrollment of 6 students. If the minimum enrollment is not met by 5pm on the Friday before the scheduled practice session, the practice session will be canceled and students will be refunded. Please be sure to check the practice groups page on the PHIT site for practice group status before heading out. In the event of cancelation students will receive a refund email from ticketleap.
