ABOUT ABOUT

PHIT Improv intensives give you the benefit of going through an entire PHIT level in a very short amount of time. A class that would normally meet once a week for eight weeks is condensed into meeting just a few days in one week! We also occasionally offer a full program intensive where you complete Improv levels 101 – 401 in just one month! Each intensive includes a pass for free admission to PHIT shows and access to improv practice groups, and a class graduation show.

Intro to Improvised Scenework: Students will learn the basic improv concept of “Yes, and..” and discover how a scene can be created through agreement. They will also learn important basic improv skills like: creating characters, establishing relationships, exploring scenes with objects and environment work. Students will then combine these skills to create fully improvised scenes with a partner. Meets once a week for eight weeks.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT KEVIN
“Kevin was a very professional and encouraging instructor. He provided each of his students with constructive advice that helped us to build upon our skills week by week. We all had a great time! ” – “I loved Kevin and really thought he did an excellent job leading the group. He let us relax and be real, while always keeping us focused on the goals of improv.”

KEVIN PETTIT BIO
Kevin discovered his love for performing in front of the camp fire doing skits and songs in Scouts. Thanks to some amazing teachers throughout high school and college, his interests were encouraged and he one day decided to take an improv class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC. Once back in the Philadelphia area, he continued taking classes at Philly Improv Theater where he met the members of his 2nd family, the independent team Iron Lung. He has been performing regularly with Iron Lung and the folicly gifted trio Beirdo in Philadelphia. He was a member of PHIT House Team Davenger. Kevin is very grateful for the opportunities he has to perform with so many talented minds!
