The Annoyance has created over 250 shows, through improvisation, over the last 27-years. If talking ideas to death in a writer’s room makes you want to kill yourself, then come learn the accelerated method we use to create content. Whether you’re a newer writer struggling to come up with ideas, or a seasoned writer who wants to break out of old habits and push yourself into wild new sketch comedy terrain, this is for you. We will twist and turn your mind and psyche into an output factory of material.
The first part of this workshop will introduce the methods of pitching ideas, co-creating ideas on the fly, improvising through these premises, and then re-improvising with notes to begin building sketches that are fresh, fun, and unique to your own voice. The second part of the workshop will focus on solo performance.
Bring a two minute monologue that you would like to workshop, or bring nothing and Anthony will guide you through the creation of an original character on the fly. If solo performance intimidates you, TAKE THIS WORKSHOP. Anthony prides himself on creating a safe, inviting atmosphere for people to take risks and get out of their comfort zones.
