INSTRUCTOR

WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT DAVID
“David was amazing. His feedback was perfectly balanced between noting our strengths in each scene and overall as improvisers as well as offering what we could do to improve. He also made sure to take the time to tell us how good he thought we were, which was highly encouraging and made for an incredible sold out class show!”  —  “I thought that David was an amazing instructor and that he gave freely of himself both inside and outside of the classroom. I felt like he was extremely supportive, while also challenging us to grow in ways that were specific to us as individuals. He did a fantastic job of creating and facilitating an environment that was fun and engaging. Our class had really unique personalities and styles and yet, because of David’s encouraging spirit, he fostered a space for us each to learn about improv AND to begin some great friendships that are sure to grow into something special.”

DAVID DONNELLA BIO
David Donnella is a member of PHIT House Team The Future.

David began acting at Radnor High School where he played Mordcha the bartender in Fiddler on the Roof. He then moved to Hampshire College where he studied film, theater, and writing. After graduating in 2011, David began studying at the Philly Improv Theater with Jason Grimley and Mike Marbach.

Nowadays, David performs weekly with The Future, monthly with the Dynamite Series shows Study Hall, Page One, and Dirty Laundry, and whenever possible with the children’s show StoryUp! He also holds the unofficial record for most improv classes buddied.

A proud alumnus of the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Mens Chorale, David believes that a bold color choice is the first step to success. Outside of improv David can be found selling beer, supporting the Chicago Bulls, and arguing about Game of Thrones on the Stark Raven Mad Podcast.
