Have you always wanted to learn how to take your sketches from the stage to the screen? Learn the tricks to filming a hilarious video sketch? Wanted to go to film school but decided it was irresponsible to waste the money? This class will teach you all of the rudimentary concepts of conceptualizing, producing, and creating a video sketch. Learn how to run a small set, write up shot lists and storyboards, as well as analyze comedy films and videos to figure out what makes them so damn good. At the end of it all you will employ all the concepts you learned to make your own filmed sketch to be viewed at the theater. Absolutely no prior film making experience is required.
Prerequisite: Sketch Writing 101 or Permission of Training Center (email [email protected] to be considered)

Screening: The final video will be screened at the Sketch Jam, Saturday March 10th @ 4:30 PM (Second Stage)

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Jon Plester studied film making at Temple University and now serves as the director of PHIT's all digital sketch team, The Worst Generation. Jon also performs around Philadelphia with his sketch duo, Jon & Ian Have Something to Tell You, who have performed at Toronto Sketchfest, Montreal Sketchfest, and Philly Sketchfest. Jon is a member of the PHIT house team Dunk Tank and the Dynamite Series show Page One. His writing has been featured in McSweeneys, College Humor, and Above Average.
